5 – It’s Raining

Over the next few days, Kibum and Stephanie had been spending a lot of time with each other. During their rehearsal breaks, they would go grab something to eat, run errands, or just walk around outside to get some fresh air. Stephanie really enjoyed his company. Kibum was really nice, funny, and he wasn’t too bad looking, although she wasn’t thinking about the latter because she had Micky.

“Does anyone around here ever do anything for fun…like…together? Other than Noraebang?” Stephanie asked.
Kibum thought about it for a second before he replied.

“Uh…not really. We all usually have different schedules and everything so we just really stick to our own groups.” Kibum replied.

Stephanie made a face as she stared at the ground. They were sitting outside the back of the SM building. Stephanie ran ideas through her head for a minute or two and suddenly, she jumped up.

“Let’s have a movie night!” She said, clapping her hands together. You could see the excitement in her eyes.

“How?” Kibum asked.

“Well…we’ll just ask the manager if we can use the Commons for the night and then we’ll make snacks and stuff and watch some movies. Maybe…scary movies? Or funny? Or how about a mix? I know! GODZILLA!” Stephanie joked in her excitement.

Kibum jumped up too and smiled. “Alright! Let’s do this! I’ll go tell everyone…You…go make some snacks or something!” Kibum said.

Before Stephanie had a chance to react, he was running off to go spread the message.

Stephanie flipped open her cell phone and dialed Kibum’s number.

Ring….Ring….

“Hello?”

“Yeah…you kinda forgot to tell me what time to be ready by.” She said.

“Oh…um….8 PM.” Kibum stammered.

“Alright. Bye!” Stephanie closed her phone and then went to work.

She made her way to the cafeteria and snuck behind the counter and started pulling ingredients to make different kinds of cookies with. She mixed her first batch and put it in the oven. While she was waiting for it to finish, she was running back and forth trying to tell people and get things set up. She got permission from the manager to move stuff and asked her unnies to help her move it. Just as they finished moving the first couch, the batch was done so Stephanie ran and mixed another batch really fast. As she was doing that, another couch was moved in. The cycle repeated about 3 more times.

After the 3rd time, Kibum came running in.

“What movies should I go rent?” He asked Stephanie in a hurry.

“Um…I don’t know…get something funny and something scary!” She said as she reached into her pocket. She pulled out some bills and handed them to Kibum.

“Here…Use this.” She said smiling.

“Alright. I’ll be back soon!” He said as he ran off.

Stephanie was hoping it would take too long because it was only about a half hour until every one arrived. After the last batch finished, Stephanie stacked them neatly on plates and ran to put them on the “snack” tray. Along with the cookies, she provided plates, napkins, popcorn, chips, and drinks.

“Ah…this’ll be fun.”

About 10 minutes later, Kibum came running back in and handed her two DVDs.
One was a funny/thriller about pretty boys in a high school and the other was a horror movie about ghosts.

“I’m excited!” Stephanie said as she plopped down on the couch next to him.

“Yeah, me too. I hope everyone comes!” Kibum replied.

“….I kinda wish Micky was here. I don’t like scary movies…but with a crowd they can be good…I guess” She said , a little bit unsure of herself.

“Hahaha…don’t worry. I’ll protect you from any ghosts.” Kibum laughed.

“Really? Thanks!” She joked.

They kept talking for a little while until everyone showed up. BoA and Donghae came hand in hand and sat on one of the couches adjacent to Kibum and Stephanie. Lina showed up, but Kang In wasn’t with her.

“Where’s Kang In?” Kibum asked her.

“You got me…” She said as she took a seat next to Stephanie.

After that, everyone else poured in, taking random seats on couches or the floor. Once everyone was situated, Stephanie stood up.

“Alright everyone. Thanks for coming! We decided to do this because all of us rarely spend time together…so I wanted us to have some quality “family” time” She smiled.

A couple of them “aww”ed while others said their thanks.

“Over here are some home made cookies and other refreshments, so please help yourselves.” She said, pointing to the tables where the snacks were.

Upon her direction, almost everyone darted over to get some of the sweets. Stephanie laughed as she saw everyone scrambling to get something. Kibum walked past her and put in the scary movie first. He walked back to her.

“I think we should watch this one first so that we won’t be so scared later tonight.” He said smiling.

“Good idea!”

As everyone was returning to their seats, Stephanie went and turned off the lights and closed the doors. The room was almost pitch black except for some very dim ceiling lights and the glow from the TV.
With the movie starting, Stephanie hurried and took her seat. Kibum showed up a few seconds later with a plate of snacks and a drink for her.

“Thank you.” She muttered.

She bit into one of the cookies and the sweetness overpowered her mouth

“Oh my gosh! These are good. I’m a cooking whiz!” She laughed silently to herself.

Kibum seemed to be enjoying them too.

Stephanie was enthralled by this movie because it was really interesting, but she started to freak out a little once a certain part came. The heroine was walking down a dark staircase, calling out her friends name when the ghost shot out of the door behind her and screamed. Stephanie screamed, along with all the other girls in the room, and clutched Kibum’s arm. It would have been ok with him, but she had a death grip.

“Uh……Steph…..You’re…..kind hurting my arm.” He said, trying to pry her fingers off.

“Oh…oh….jeez….sorry!” She said, trying to calm down.

Everything was calm again for a second, until Lina screamed. Stephanie jumped and looked over to her. Kang In had slid into the room and grabbed her. She smiled and started laughing while she slapped his arm and then scooted over so he could sit next to her. She grabbed his hand and cuddled with him, relaxing because she had someone to “protect” her. Stephanie smiled.

“Those two are so cute together…” She whispered, pointing at them.

Kibum laughed and agreed.

After the scary movie was over, everyone took a quick break for more snacks or bathroom runs. Stephanie looked over to her right and saw that Ryeowook was furiously texting away.

“Hey Wookie. Who are you talking too?” She questioned.

“Oh…just a friend of mine. I haven’t talked to him in a while.” He replied, not removing his gaze from the phone.
“That’s nice.” Stephanie said as she repositioned herself on the couch.

After everyone returned, Kibum put in the next movie. This one was actually pretty funny. Some parts of it had everyone rolling.

“This was great. Everyone seems to be having a good time. Maybe we should try to do this more often.” Stephanie thought as the movie was coming to a close.

Once the movie finished, everyone helped clean up and rearrange the furniture. They chatted for a while afterwards and then everyone said their goodbyes. Kibum walked Stephanie to her room.

“You had a really good idea. That was fun. We should do it more often. It was nice to have everyone come together, even if it was just to watch a movie.” Kibum said.

“Yeah…it was fun.” Stephanie yawned.

“Hmm…you look beat. Go sleep.” Kibum playfully commanded her.

“Yes sir!” She joked. “Thanks for all the help. You’re awesome.” She said as she went inside.

“No problem. Sleep well.” Kibum said as he walked away.

Kibum seemed pretty tired too. He kept yawning on his slow walk back his room.
“Almost there. Then I can pass out.” He thought to himself.

Kibum was just about to turn the last corner when he felt someone tug on his arm. He turned around, secretly wishing it wasn’t some kind of demon or something. He was greeted with a not so happy looking Micky.

“Hey Mick—“ Kibum couldn’t even finish his sentence. Micky’s fist connected hard with his left eye. Kibum took a step back, shocked.

“What was tha—“ Again, another hard blow, this time to his ribs.

Kibum coughed as the air rushed out of his lungs. His head spun from the force of the punch and lack of oxygen. He put his arms up defensively, getting ready to block when more arms grabbed him. They pulled his arms back, holding him there defenseless. Micky unleashed another few blows into Kibum’s stomach, causing his eyes to tear up out of pain. The arms holding him back released and Kibum dropped to the floor. He looked up to see who had been holding him. It was Yunho and Jaejoong. Dizzily, Kibum looked up to Micky.

“What’s…wrong with you?” He forced out.

“Stay the hell away from my girlfriend. If I see you around her again, I’ll make you wish you never existed.” He threatened, walking away.

Kibum saw Ryeowook appear from the corner and run past him to catch up with the 3 that had just beaten him.

“…” Kibum couldn’t even think right now.

Slowly, he managed to gather his senses and pull himself up. He walked over to his door and opened it up. Everyone was already asleep so he just found his way to his bed and laid down.

Kibum’s head hurt, but he didn’t want to trouble anyone so he pulled the covers up over his face. Tears were forming in his eyes from the pain and frustration he felt. Not wanting to think anymore, he forced himself to sleep.
